YOU Can Help!

There are literally dozens of ways to help. Many people donate money, but others have come up with creative ways to fundraise for us. Some suggestions we have received are bake sales, car washes, spare change and penny drives, lemonade stands, rummage sales, bottle and can drives. Pretty much any idea you have that can raise money is a great idea. We only ask that if you are willing to do a fundraiser, that you consider splitting the proceeds between our organization and a local charity of your choice. The Wells Middle School Honor society chose to help Grace House, a family shelter located in Southbridge, thereby connecting homelessness and poverty here in the U.S. with the same in the Congo. Sal and I thought that was a wonderful idea when they suggested it.

If you let us know in advance of your event, we have a banner you can borrow, we can be on hand to speak about the project, take pictures and feature your group on our website and Facebook page.

Donate

Donating to Kids in the Congo is the easiest way to help us! We accept any number of donations, large or small. We'll even accept donations for pennies! Literally, the most important thing to us is affording the education for our kids so we will gladly accept anything you can spare for the children. If this is something you'd like to do, just click the "Donate" button below. We also accept cash, money orders, and checks to:

Become a Bottle and Can Contributor

This is a wonderful way to help the kids! All you need to do is collect cans and bottles and then you can contact Lynne Brouillette (413-209-6526) to have them picked up or you can redeem them and send the money to St. Anne's Cans for Kids in the Congo, in Fiskdale, MA.

Feed a Family

Feeding a child and their family is as simple as making a small donation. It costs about $1 per day to feed a child in the Congo. Most families have several children and parents, so ten dollars would cover a family for a day. The schools do not provide lunch and the children walk from their villages to school and back each day. Most of the time, this is on an empty stomach.

There are several options to choose from below. You can make a simple donation of any amount, you can make a one-time meal donation for a time-period of your choosing (one day, one month, one year, etc.), or you can signup to be a meal sponsor at a fixed recurring rate for a time-period of your choosing.

Sponsor a Child

Sponsoring a child, is hands-down, the single BEST way to help a child in need in the Congo. By essentially adopting a child, you would be providing a fixed amount to that child and their family for the duration of that child's education; this is such a wonderful contribution for a young life. The process is also very simple.

You can choose from three sponsorship packages. The first option, is a simple $50 donation to the child every year for about 10 years, the length of time required for them to complete their education. The second option, is to provide an $86 donation every year for 10 years; this will allow the child to pay for tuition and have a little extra to spend on food, school supplies, and their families. The third option, is to pre-pay for a child's full-tuition (10 years) upfront. This is a cost of about $500 to $1000 but will provide a child with their education, and supplies, for 10 years. Enough to change their life for good. The options below will help you find more information about which option you're interested in. As a sponsor, you'll receive a picture of your child, some basic biographical information, and simple letters translated into English from Swahili or French from your child.
